McDonald’s has just announced a brand new bougee chicken burger, the Crispy McFillet and it’s so beautiful I could cry. They pulled me in to snap it for their billboards and in store moments.

The Crispy McFillet comprises of a chicken breast fillet in crunchy seasoned breading nestled in a glazed knotted sourdough bun, alongside fresh lettuce, and the most delicious mayo.

Another fantastic spring time TVC for Lidl. We told the spring story with lots of upwards motion around some beautiful food. The first BBQ of the year, delicious legs of lamb and delicious salmon as well as strawberries and a gin in the garden. What could go wrong… Oh wait…

I achieved a bucket list dream this year, being able to direct a “It’s not just a…” commercial for M&S. Mothers Day flowers were the subject, up close and personal making them looking super beautiful! The deal came with a free vase so we had to highlight that gorgeous number too.

The Big Tasty campaign for McDonald’s is all about decision making. With the Classic Big Tasty, The Big Tasty With Bacon and the the BBQ Big Tasty to choose from it’s almost impossible to make your mind up.

I was invited by the lovely people at Lidl and Karmarama to direct this handsome spring time TV Commercial. There were a few tick boxes, a beautiful spring garden - we were shooting in January so we built it in the studio. We needed SPRING so springing bouncing moments, thats flying hot cross buns, bouncing veg and chicken and daffs with a lovely upwards motion. Then Lidl love a block colour, their price points sit on spring brand colours of teals and purple so we had to sneak these into the mix too.

The McPlant is a landmark launch for McDonald’s. They have been working on it for years, delaying its launch and pushing the quality to ensure that it is exactly what the Vegan consumer is looking for.

When McDonald’s shoot a TV Commercial it’s normally the case that three quarters of the ad is a lifestyle shoot with people and the final moments are food. With the McPlant McDonald’s wanted to make it all about the food and were kind enough to bring me in to direct. We shot a dynamic tabletop commercial with some beautiful food styling from Udo Reichelt-Schaurer. It’s a tricky product as it behaves differently to a normal burger but I think it looks as good as the real thing.

Taster are a series of pop up kitchens working exclusively with delivery companies like Deliveroo and Just Eat. They have a series of brands under their roof, from fried chicken in Outfry or Vegan Burgers in A Burgers. Working with food stylist Laurie Perry we created a large series of social images (more than i’ve ever shot in a day) to go on their online platforms. Tasty, delicious, messy good fun!

The Chicken Big Mac has proved to be an absolute phenomenon, selling out quicker than any McDonald’s product ever!

It was created after research showed that it was the most hacked item from the McDonald’s menu. Customers would pull together the pieces from Big Mac’s and Chicken McSandwich’s to form the burger and for a limited time only it was brought to the nation on menu.

I was commissioned by the brilliant Leo Burnett/Prodigious to shoot the wonderful festive range for McDonald’s. Bringing the extremely talented Udo Reichelt-Schaurer into the mix as Food Stylist alongside Tony Hutchinson on props, we created a delicious teal world that created a modern look for McDonald’s Christmas campaign in 2021.

Way back in October last year I was asked by Dishpatch to go and shoot at The Marksman in Hackney. A beautiful pub run by John Rotheram and Tom Harris. Both ex St John they serve up homeless, timely and emphatically tasty pub fare.

The Double Big Mac was launched at the end of last year but now the Chicken Big Mac has sold out it is back now.

We created some beautiful stills with the talented Rob Morris Food Stylist as well as some films for the menu boards in store. Then followed it up with a TVC With the very talented Udo Reichelt-Shaurer.

A few snaps from my non-work visit to Meatopia 2021. I was there on the Saturday and couldn’t resist doing a few laps to grab some snaps. My pick of the pops was once again Smokestak’s Brisket Bun. It goes undefeated in my book as the tastiest thing to eat in London but pretty much everything on offer this time around was wild delicious.

I’m really delighted to have won the advertising category of the Production Paradise Spotlight Awards. The image from our recent McDonald’s wrappers series won through and I’m really excited to share an interview we did together to talk about the shot.

Another great gig for Maccy D’s! This time we were playing the classics as part of their ‘Affinity’ campaign. We were tasked with shooting some of the classic menu items, Big Mac, Fries, Milkshakes, Nuggets etc. Shot on grey as a delicious but graphic still life the images would be paired with well written copy to remind us all how McDonald’s pairs with those moments in life to make perfect harmony.

I’m really excited to announce I have joined Darling as my film representation for the UK. Part of the Ridley Scott Creative Group they have a track record of making top commercials with some top food clients. I’m really pleased to share our part series based around young smoker Ruben. Ruben created a business during lockdown smoking meats in his parents garden in Brixton and has built it up to a serious business creating delicious taco kits that sell out eat week.

Each episode focuses on a different part of Ruben & his business, The Smoke, Family, Brixton and Deliveries.

The new McSpicy from McDonald’s is finally out, a crispy crunchy spicy crumb surrounds tender chicken breast, crunchy lettuce and cool mayo topped with a sesame seed bun. It’s not blow your head off spicy but has a nice tingle and a bit of the devil within.

I was commissioned by McDonald’s to shoot the out of home advertising campaign which plays on peoples reactions to how spicy it is. I also directed the food sequence in the TV Commercial along with production house Food Hall.

I was recently invited to shoot the OOH, menu boards and film screen content for McDonald’s latest premium burger offering, the BBQ Bacon Stack. Pepper jack cheese, bacon, two patties, tomato, lettuce and onion on a sesame seed bun, what’s not to love?
